Dryad’s Saddle

Eat some wild food every day.

Good for nutrition, good for taste, good for microbiome, good for food security, good for fun. Just good. #foraginguk #fungiforager

Dryad’s saddle is a spectacular and relatively common woodland fungus. To eat it, choose one that is young and small and worm free. Slice it into fillets and fry it. It is flavourful and has a firm texture, it just needs a little black pepper.

When eating a fungus for the first time:

1-Identify it 100%

2-Only eat a small amount and wait to check if you have a reaction.

3-Keep an example back so you can show the medics in the event of a serious mistake.
