If you do one thing this month - get ready for Imbolc

If you do one thing this year get ready to celebrate the return of the light. As the dark long nights of winter begin to recede early flowers burst through; early hopeful reminders of the long light to come. Imbolc is held as the great celebratory event of the year, one of the four fire festivals. Mid way between Yule and Ostara it is a key turning point of the Wheel of the Year. The etymology of its name is unclear. It is marked by bringing white or yellow flowers indoors or by weaving reed dollies and Brigit’s crosses. It’s the traditional time for sweeping any mess left over from the winter; a great time for a good spring clean.
